Centurion+ Patent Holders as of July 2, 2024

Thorsten B Lill
An executive with a demonstrated track record of successful development and customer implementation of innovative wafer processing tool and process solutions for the semiconductor industry including co-optimized deposition, etching and cleaning solutions for advanced logic and memory solutions.

Patent №: 12029133 (July 2, 2024) – Ion beam etching with sidewall cleaning. Patterned MRAM stacks are formed by ion beam etching (IBE) through MRAM layers on a substrate. Gapfill dielectric material is then deposited between the stacks and etched to a depth above the underlayer. Finally, an IBE trim etch removes some of the gapfill dielectric and any conductive materials on the MRAM stack sidewalls.

Xiaoyu Xiu
Mr. Xiu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Beijing University of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2003 and 2006, respectively, both in electrical engineering. The Ph.D. degree from the School of Engineering Science, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada, in 2012.
From May 2010 to September 2010, he was a Visiting Researcher with the National Institute of Informatics, Tokyo, Japan. From 2012 to 2018, he was a Senior Staff Engineer at InterDigital Communications Inc.
He is currently a Video Algorithm Scientist at Kwai Inc. He had been actively involved in various video coding standards, including the HEVC standard, it’s scalable and screen content coding extensions and Joint Exploration Model of the JVET and the emerging VVC standard.

Patent №: 12028547 (July 2, 2024) – Methods and apparatus of video coding for triangle prediction. Methods for video coding include partitioning video pictures into coding units (CUs), with some CUs further split into two prediction units (PUs), including at least one geometric PU; creating a merge list of candidates with motion vectors; and obtaining a uni-prediction merge list for the geometric PU by selecting motion vectors from the initial merge list.

Patent №: 12028520 (July 2, 2024) – Multi-type tree coding. A block may be identified and partitioned into sibling nodes. The partition direction and type are determined. For a binary tree (BT) partition, parameters are determined for the sibling nodes. A decoder decides whether to receive or derive a second partition parameter for one sibling node based on the partition direction, type, and first partition parameter.

Abhishek Kumar
Product & Brand Design.
Patent №: 12026432 (July 2, 2024) – Media content display for playback.

A system is configured to receive a command to present media content on a display device, determine a user identity, identify a corresponding user account, select media items based on the command and user account properties, present these items on the display, receive a command to play a specific media item, and cause the playback device to play it.

Sujeet Shyamsundar Mate
Multimedia research and standardization at Nokia.
Mr. Mate is a Principal Researcher at Nokia and a Nokia Bell Labs Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff. His expertise is in end-to-end multimedia systems.
He contributes to immersive multimedia standards in MPEG Audio/Systems (ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/WG 6/3) and 3GPP SA4.
Patent №: 12028700 (July 2, 2024) – Associated spatial audio playback. An apparatus for obtaining audio signals, determining a zoom effect, and generating audio effect information based on the zoom effect and zoom factor to control audio signal processing for one or more audio sources.

Umberto Di Vincenzo
Senior engineer at Micron Technology.

Patent №: 12027230 (July 2, 2024) – Methods and systems for improving read and write of memory cells. A method for accessing memory cells involves latching the current row address, comparing it with the last row address, executing a leakage compensation algorithm if the comparison is negative, or waiting for write-to-read completion if the comparison is positive.
