Inventor Esmael Dinan has more than twenty years of research and development experience with tech firms such as WorldCom, Bechtel Communications, Sprint, and Clearwire. He led research and development projects in areas of wireless and wireline networking technologies that included LTE Advanced, Evolved Packet Core, 5G New Radio, and 5G Core Networks. While leading and inspiring the Ofinno team, he never stops his own research — he has over one thousand granted or pending patent applications in his name. Esmael received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia in 2001.

Patent №: 11956856 (April 9, 2024) – Network slice isolation information for session management function discovery. The NRF gets a request from the AMF for the SMF’s address, including network slice info. NRF replies to AMF with the SMF address based on the request.

Patent №: 11956801 (April 9, 2024) – Scheduling wireless communications. Control info schedules wireless device and base station comms. The device monitors cell control channels for this info.

Patent №: 11956796 (April 9, 2024) – Information exchange between base stations. Describes methods for wireless communication with transmission points. A point configures its downlink channel based on another’s. Points manage overlap or offset between downlink channels.

Patent №: 11956722 (April 9, 2024) – Power saving operation for multicast and broadcast services. A wireless device gets DRX configs for unicast and MBS. It gets a PS indication not to start DRX for unicast. The PS indication applies to the first config, not the second. During the first DRX, it skips monitoring unicast PDCCHs. During the second DRX, it monitors MBS PDCCHs while skipping the unicast ones.

Patent №: 11956056 (April 9, 2024) – Cell grouping in beam failure recovery procedure. A wireless device gets config parameters for a cell group. The group has a primary cell and second cells. The primary cell has BFR params, and second cells use it for BFR. If any secondary cell gets a grant or assignment, the primary cell’s deactivation timer restarts.

Patent №: 11955459 (April 9, 2024) – Package structure. The package structure comprises two dies, a dielectric layer on them, and a bridge connecting them electrically but spaced apart from the dielectric layer. An encapsulant covers the bridge laterally. A redistribution layer structure is over the encapsulant and bridge, with the bridge’s top surface in contact with it.

Patent №: 11956832 (April 9, 2024) – Random-access procedure for scheduling request. An apparatus triggers a buffer status report for a logical channel and then triggers a SR for the same channel based on the report. It checks if the SR configuration is set with PUCCH resources for the current active BWP and initiates a RACH procedure if not.

Patent №: 11956830 (April 9, 2024) – PUSCH transmission using an aggregation factor. A method includes selecting and transmitting a random access channel preamble. Upon receiving a random access response message, it transmits the PUSCH according to the uplink grant with a specific aggregation factor, while being configured with another aggregation factor.

Patent №: 11956800 (April 9, 2024) – Preempting an allocation of uplink resources. An apparatus receives two allocations of uplink resources, where the second overlaps with the first and is received later. It determines if the second allocation has higher priority traffic and preempts the first allocation accordingly to generate a transmission block.

Patent №: 11954621 (April 9, 2024) – Personal protective equipment (PPE) management. This disclosure relates to managing personal protective equipment (PPE). It involves receiving data on use time limits for various PPE articles and monitoring their usage with sensors. Based on this monitoring, it determines if usage rules are met, issuing recommendations accordingly.

Patent №: 11954209 (April 9, 2024) – Cognitive malware awareness improvement with cyclamates. The invention determines access levels in an organization, generates simulated scenarios based on these levels, and identifies user responses. It captures input frames, analyzes responses and frames, then provides user education based on this analysis.
