Ahmed Attia Abotabl

Staff Research Engineer at Qualcomm.

Abotabl received a B.S. degree (Hons.) from Alexandria University, Egypt, an M.Sc. degree from Nile University, Egypt, and a Ph.D. degree from The University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, TX, USA, all in electrical engineering.

Since 2017, Ahmed has been with the Samsung SOC Research and Development Laboratory, San Diego, CA, USA, where he is involved in algorithm development for 5G wireless modems.

His research interests include information theory, coding theory and their applications in physical layer security, and machine learning. He was a recipient of the Erik Jonsson Graduate Fellowship in 2012, the Louis-Beecherl Jr. Award in 2015, and the UTD Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board Award in 2016, from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Patent №: 11956819 (April 9, 2024) – System and method for performing transmission cancellation indication monitoring. A method involves a network providing a transmission grant to a UE device. It initiates the grant process for a specific time, verifies no cancellation indication overlaps with it, and then provides the grant. It also checks if any transmission overlaps with a cancellation window associated with a monitoring occasion and skips the occasion accordingly. A system for this purpose is also disclosed.

Patent №: 11956732 (April 9, 2024) – Autonomous physical uplink shared channel repetition cancellation for energy-limited devices. A UE may transmit multiple uplink channel repetitions to a base station. If the device’s power level doesn’t meet a predetermined threshold for the required repetitions, it decides not to transmit them. The device can adjust its power level through energy harvesting operations, thus enhancing power efficiency and reliability for uplink transmissions.

Patent №: 11956728 (April 9, 2024) – Downlink power adaptation for full-duplex systems. If downlink messages from a base station overlap with uplink messages from the UE, the UE determines a downlink transmission power adjustment. The base station can convey this adjustment via RRC signaling or DCI messages. The UE then transmits the uplink messages while receiving the downlink messages at a transmission power corresponding to the adjustment. This adjustment reduces self-interference at the UE and/or base station.

Ramachandran Muralidhar

Muralidhar received a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1988.

Ramachandran has been with IBM since 2008. He has an interdisciplinary modeling background and has contributed in many areas, including inverse problems for colloidal systems and methane leak detection, nonequilibrium statistical physics of condensed phases, and modeling the dispersion of accidental releases of HF mixtures.

His contributions in semiconductor technology include the development of silicon nanocrystal memory in Freescale Semiconductor, and investigating process and logic and memory device scaling via simulations for 22 nm node and beyond.

Patent №: 11954615 (April 9, 2024) – Model management for non-stationary systems. A method to enhance quality or yield of a physical process involves obtaining values for variables associated with the process from its performances. It determines Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) representing these values, computes anomaly scores based on the GMMs, identifies performances as outliers, and modifies variables for subsequent performances based on this identification.

Thomas Hein

Distinguished Member of Technical Staff -at Micron Technology – Graphics Memory.

DRAM design engineer fully dedicated to graphics memory for the entire career. Starting from Multi-Bank DRAM and SGRAM over many generations of graphics memory (GDDR1/3/5/5x/6/6x) to the latest GDDR7. Leading design teams, standardizing and defining DRAM architectures that power there fastest DRAM memories which are used in game consoles, gaming PC’s and automotive applications.

Patent №: 11954342 (April 9, 2024) – Masked training and analysis with a memory array. Describes methods, systems, and devices for masked training and analysis using a memory array. The memory device can operate in two modes: the first mode disables the MTA decoder and couples the input node with the first decoder’s output node, while the second mode enables the MTA decoder and couples the input node with the second decoder’s output node.

Urs Burckhardt

Head of Research at Sika Technology AG.

Patent №: 11952493 (April 9, 2024) – Moisture-curing polyurethane composition containing oxazolidine.

A polyurethane composition contains an isocyanate-group-containing polymer formed from the reaction of a polyol with a diisocyanate, along with an oxazolidine compound. This composition enables one-component moisture-curing adhesives, sealants, or coatings with excellent storage stability, long open times, and quick curing, resulting in a non-tacky material with high-resilience properties.
