Abstract

A door hanger () is disclosed for use in installation of a door assembly (). The door hanger () includes a jamb arm () with a triangular shaped edge (), and proximate shorter edges () formed inwardly from the triangular shaped edge () and perpendicular to each other. A pair of opposing faces () are formed by the triangular shaped edge () and the proximate edges (), and a central hole () is located substantially in the center of the opposing faces (). An alignment flange () is perpendicular to the jamb arm () and includes a distal arcuate edge (). The arcuate edge () has a configuration substantially conforming to the legs of a triangle. Formed inwardly from the distal arcuate edge () are a pair of opposing sides (), with sets of alignment notches () formed on the opposing sides (). The alignment flange () also includes an alignment slot () for purposes of selectively aligning a connecting screw or the like for attaching the door hanger () to either a strike side wall () or a hinge side wall (). The door hanger () also includes a pair of tabs () which assist in proper alignment of the door hanger () along the edges of the strike jamb () or hinge jamb (), as the case may be.
