Abstract
A value characteristic changing apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the invention is provided with an intake-side variable valve timing mechanism that changes a valve timing of an intake valve of an internal combustion engine, and an exhaust-side variable valve timing mechanism that changes a valve timing of an exhaust valve. The intake-side variable valve mechanism is a mechanism that uses an storage battery as a power source; the exhaust-side variable valve timing mechanism is a mechanism that uses a hydraulic pump of an engine driving type as a power source.
