A new cultivar ofplant named 'PIILAG-IX' that is characterized by its compact and upright plant habit of intermediate stature, its freely branched growth habit without pruning resulting in a dense fine textured plant habit, its young stems that are grey-red in color, its foliage that is dark maroon-purple in color, and its flowers that are red in color.
