Abstract

A new cultivar ofof hybrid origin, 'Beaujolais', characterized by its relatively large, orbicular shaped leaves that are dark burgundy red in color with silver highlights and darker burgundy red veins held on burgundy red petioles. 'Beaujolais' is further characterized by its low mounded and compact plant habit, its tolerance to high heat and humidity, and its hardiness in U.S.D.A. Zones 4 to 9.
