Abstract

The optical imaging lens includes, sequentially from an object side to an image side, an aperture stop, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth lens elements. The first lens element is made of plastic. The object-side of the second lens element has a convex portion in a vicinity of its periphery. The third lens element has positive refracting power. The object-side surface of the fourth lens element has a concave portion in the vicinity of the optical axis, and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element has a concave portion in the vicinity of the optical axis. Though controlling the convex or concave shape of the surfaces and/or the refracting power of the lens elements, the optical imaging lens shows better optical characteristics and the total length of the optical imaging lens is shortened.
