Abstract
A camera device () is provided and includes a drive unit () connected via a transmission mechanism to a carriage (). The carriage () mechanically holds a camera () and can move the carriage () together with the camera () at least between a standby position () and a recording position () along a movement direction (). The carriage () is movably arranged in a housing () by at least one guide (). A movable cover () can close an opening () in the housing () in a closed position when the camera () assumes its standby position (). A switch element () can trigger a signal for a vehicle-specific function. In the closed position (), a manual pressure () on the cover () causes movement of the carriage () with the camera (), which can switch the camera from its standby position () into an auxiliary position ().
