Abstract
A mobile terminal including a body forming an external appearance of the terminal; a window; a touch screen containing a first display region and a second display region and including a touch sensor and disposed in the body; the touch screen deposed below the window; a first sensing layer configured to sense a change of capacitance on the first sensing layer for detecting a pressure of a touch input; and a controller configured to display a virtual keyboard in the second display region for a text input, display text in the first display region based on a first touch input applied to the virtual keyboard in the second display region, display an indicator in the first display region based on a second touch input applied to the virtual keyboard in the second display region, if the second touch input is determined as a pressure touch based on the sensed change of the capacitance of the second touch input via the first sensing layer, and move the indicator in the first display region based on a movement of the second touch input in the second display region.
