Abstract

Methods and systems for generating heat and/or nitrogen gas in subterranean operations, pipelines, and other related operations are provided. In one embodiment, the methods comprise: providing a treatment composition comprising a carrier fluid, a delayed acid generating component, a first reactant, and a second reactant, wherein the first and second reactants are selected for being capable of reacting in an exothermic chemical reaction or a chemical reaction that produces nitrogen gas; and introducing the treatment composition into at least a portion of a conduit, container, or subterranean formation.
