Abstract

A paper sheet handling system includes a reception unitconfigured to receive a plurality of paper sheets, a taking-in unitconfigured to take in, one by one, the paper sheets received by the reception unit, a recognizing and counting unitconfigured to recognize and count the paper sheets taken in by the taking-in unit, a handling unit configured to handle the paper sheets recognized by the recognizing and counting unit, the handling unit including stackersto, rejection unitsand, a bundling unit, a transport unit, and a cassette storing unit, and an operation/display unitconfigured to input a confirmation signal for confirming count data on the paper sheets recognized by the recognizing and counting unit. The paper sheet handling systemis configured to accept the confirmation signal from the operation/display uniton a condition that the last paper sheet is recognized by the recognizing and counting unit
