Abstract

The heat exchanger HE comprising a casehousing a plurality of heat transfer tubesand a headerhaving a hollow main bodywith an open edge. A side wallof the caseis provided with a bulging portionhaving a cylindrical circumferential wallbulging out of the caseand an end wallwhich blocks a tip portion of the circumferential wall. Each end of the heat transfer tubesis inserted into a penetrating holeprovided for the end wallof the bulging portion, and is jointed to the end wall, and the open edgeof the headeris fitted onto the circumferential wallof the bulging portion, thereby forming a chambercommunicating with the inside of each heat transfer tube. Therefore, it is possible that the number of the members of the heat exchanger HE is reduced, the configuration is simplified, and the heat exchanger HE is easily manufactured at low cost.
