Abstract

The present invention provides an LEV-type zeolite which is less likely than a conventional LEV-type zeolite to have reduced zeolite crystallinity even when exposed to high-temperature, high-humidity environments, particularly high-temperature, high-humidity environments of at least 700° C. The LEV-type zeolite has a molar ratio of silica to alumina of at least 20 and a molar ratio of silanol groups to silicon of at most 1.5×10. Such an LEV-type zeolite preferably has a silanol volume of at most 1.5×10/g.
