Abstract

This disclosure is directed to more effectively prevent blocking. An inkjet printing apparatushas a platen, an after-heater, a take-up gear, and a cooler. The platenheats a mediumto a temperature lower than or equal to a glass-transition temperature Tgof a resin included in the medium. The after-heaterheats the mediumto a temperature higher than or equal to a glass-transition temperature Tgof a resin contained in the ink. The take-up gearcollects the printed medium. The mediumor the take-up gearis cooled by the cooler so as to reach a temperature lower than both the temperature Tgand the temperature Tg.
