Abstract
Electronic map display information is generated. A map display comprising mapping data for a geographic region is generated. The mapping data is rendered on a map display. A plurality of concentric rings are overlaid on the map display. Each of the rings are indicative of a scaling factor for the mapping data. The scaling factor is adjusted based in a context of the map display.
