Abstract

A charging system () for a battery () has a first electrical terminal () for an AC voltage, a second electrical terminal () for a DC voltage and a converter (). The converter () is designed to convert the AC voltage of the first terminal () into a DC voltage for charging the battery (), and to convert a magnitude of a DC voltage that is passed from the second terminal () to the converter () in terms of the magnitude and to forward it to the battery (). The converter () also is designed to convert the DC voltage of the battery () into an AC voltage for driving an electric motor ().
