A compound represented by the following general formula (1) is useful as a light-emitting material. Yand Yeach independently represent N or C(R); and Rto Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, provided that at least one of Rand R, and at least one of Rand Rrepresent a group represented by the following general formula (2). Z represent a divalent linking group having a linking chain length of 1 atom; Lrepresents a single bond or a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group; and Rto Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent.
