Abstract

A brake padcan brake a rotation of a disc. The brake padincludes a friction materialprovided on the side of the discand a back platebonded to the friction materialon the opposite side of the disc. A thickness of a central region of the back platein a rotational direction of the discis larger than thicknesses of both end regions of the back platein the rotational direction of the disc. In the case where a minimum value of the thicknesses of the end regions of the back plateis defined as 'h[mm]' and a maximum value of the thickness of the central region of the back plateis defined as 'h[mm]', hand hpreferably satisfy a relationship of “h−h<3”.
