Abstract
Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus and method for transmitting capability information in an electronic device. Here, an electronic device may include: a memory configured to store a parameter corresponding to a wireless communication connection scheme which can be supported by the electronic device; a communication module, and a processor. The processor is configured to check first capability information on a plurality of connection schemes that can be supported by an external electronic device. The processor is further configured to select, based on the first capability information and the parameter, second capability information including at least one connection scheme that can be supported by the electronic device among the plurality of connection schemes. The processor is further configured to generate a message using the selected second capability information; and transmit the message to the external electronic device, using the communication module.
