Abstract
An image pickup device () includes: an image pickup section () that captures an image of an object (); an illumination section () that irradiates the object () with light to cast a shadow over the object (); and a calculator that calculates an illumination optical path () extending from a virtual illumination (). Furthermore, the image pickup device () includes: a first conveyer () that moves the image pickup section () and the illumination section () in a first direction when the image pickup section () scans the object () to capture the image of the object (); and a second conveyer () that moves the light from the illumination section () into a plane containing the illumination optical path (), in accordance with the movement of the image pickup section () and the illumination section () in the first direction.
