Abstract

The present invention relates to assisting a user in selecting a lighting device () design through receiving an image of a scene, e.g. the user taking a picture using his/her smartphone of his/her living room () and analyzing this image in order to select or generate a lighting device () design. The analysis can comprise determining the presence of a pattern, material or color in the scene and a lighting device () design can be selected (e.g. from an electronic catalog) that comprises a similar pattern, material or color. As another example, a lighting device () design can be generated to match such a pattern, material or color. The invention further comprises a system and computer program product for implementation of this method.
