Abstract
In an aspect, a negative active material for a rechargeable lithium battery that includes a silicon-based active material including a core including carbon and SiOparticles (0.5≦x≦1.5); and a coating layer surrounding the core, and a negative electrode and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same are provided.
