Abstract

A liquid crystal display () includes a liquid crystal panel (), a backlight (), and a light-diffusing member (). There exist azimuths in which a transmittance of the liquid crystal panel () and a luminance of the backlight () are higher than a transmittance and a luminance in a direction of a normal. The azimuth in which the transmittance of the liquid crystal panel () is higher coincides with the azimuth in which the luminance of the backlight () is higher.
