Abstract
A system and method for using a Solid State Drive (SSD) () are described. Reception circuitry () may receive write requests () and invalidate requests () from a first stream (). The write requests () may request that data be written to storage () on the SSD (); invalidate requests () may invalidate data written to the storage (). A statistics calculation logic () may calculate statistics () for the stream based on the write requests () and the invalidate requests (). A performance logic () may use the calculated statistics () to improve the performance of the SSD ().
