Abstract

An aircraft fuselage () comprising: an aircraft door or access panel () comprising a receiving element (); and locking apparatus for securing the aircraft door/panel () in an opening of aircraft fuselage (), the locking apparatus comprising: a shaft (); a mounting member () for mounting the shaft () to the fuselage (); securing means () fixedly mounted to the shaft () and arranged such that rotation of the shaft () about its longitudinal axis moves the securing means () from being not coupled to a receiving element () to being coupled to a receiving element () or vice versa; a locking member () for coupling to the shaft () such that rotation of the shaft () causes movement of the locking member (); and fixing means for fixedly attaching the locking member () to the aircraft fuselage () thereby preventing rotation of the shaft ().
