Disclosed is a vertical type connecting terminal for a storage battery, the vertical type connecting terminal including: a body unitwhich includes an insertion portionwhich is formed in a cylindrical shape having a cut-out at one side, an electric power outletwhich is formed opposite to the cut-out of the insertion portion, and a pair of elastic pieceswhich extends in a radial direction from both ends of the cut-out of the insertion portionand has therein arc-shaped portions', respectively; a fastening memberwhich includes a washer memberwhich has inside thereof arc-shaped grooves′ into which the arc-shaped portions′ of the elastic pieceare inserted such that the washer memberis coupled to an upper portion of the elastic pieceand adjusts an interval between the elastic pieceswhile moving vertically, a T-shaped tightening boltwhich is positioned below the elastic pieceand has a bodyto be inserted into a through holeformed in the washer member, and an elongated head, and a tightening nutwhich is fastened to the tightening boltfrom an upper side of the washer memberand allows the washer memberto move vertically, in which the tightening bolthas protruding portionswhich are formed at both ends of the headand each have an inner inclined surface′ so that a thickness of the protruding portiondecreases upward, the protruding portionsare disposed to transverse the elastic piecesin a width direction of the elastic pieces, and outer inclined surfaces, which correspond to the inner inclined surfaces′ of the protruding portions, are formed at both sides in a width direction of the washer member
