Abstract

A method sending a first data burst from a base station via a wireless network to a communication device. The first data burst includes a first portion of media content. The method also includes generating a second data burst that includes a second portion of the media content. The second data burst has a size based on potential data wastage of the second data burst, usage efficiency at the base station, or both. The method further includes sending the second data burst to the communication device according to an effective transfer rate of the media content.
