Abstract

The invention relates to a module that can be inserted into a housing of an industrial plug-in connector (), into which module () at least one optical fiber connector () can be inserted and at least one adapter () can be inserted into the module (), which adapter is connected to the optical fiber connector (), wherein the adapter () contains an optical imaging element (). In the plugged-in condition, the optical elements ('), for example the ball lenses proposed above, of two modules () are aligned with each other in such a way that the light signal exiting from the optical element () of the module of the first industrial plug-in connector () is coupled into the optical element (′) of the module (′) of the second industrial plug-in connector (′).
