Abstract

The sealed nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a gas generator that is decomposed to generate a gas when a prescribed battery voltage is exceeded, and a battery case that includes a current interrupt device that operates when the pressure within the battery case rises accompanying the gas generation. A positive electrode () has a positive electrode mixture layer () that contains at least a positive electrode active material (). This positive electrode mixture layer () contains, as conductive agents, electroconductive carbon particles () and an expanded graphite () that has an average pore diameter of 0.2 μm to 0.5 μm.
