Abstract
Provided are a container terminal and a control method therefor that enhance a cargo handling efficiency by reducing a movement of each yard crane to a minimum possible extent. The container terminal is provided with a first transfer areaoutside one end portion of a storage lane, and a second transfer areaoutside the other end portion. When a circulating transport vehicleand a shuttle vehicletransfer a container k therebetween via a first yard cranein the first transfer area, the shuttle vehicletransports the container k to a second yard crane, and the second yard cranehandles the container in an unloading container areaof the storage lane. When an external chassisand the shuttle vehicletransfer a container k therebetween via the second yard cranein the second transfer area, the shuttle vehicletransports the container k to the seaside yard craneand the first yard cranehandles the container in a loading container areaof the storage lane
