Abstract

A pneumatic tyre for heavy load vehicle wheels, includes: a carcass structure, a belt structure applied in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure, and a tread band. The belt structure includes at least one reinforcing layer incorporating a plurality of reinforcing cords arranged substantially along the circumferential direction. The belt structure further comprises a first main belt layer and a second main belt layer wherein the first main belt layer includes a first plurality of metal cords inclined at a first angle and the second main belt layer includes a second plurality of metal cords inclined at a second angle. The metal cords of the first and second plurality of metal cords have a diameter not greater than 1.30 mm, and include a plurality of filaments having a diameter not greater than 0.30 mm.
