A vehicle component () is provided for cooling a traction battery () that has at least one battery module () with at least one battery cell (). The vehicle component () has a cooling device () with a duct system () through which a cooling medium can flow. The duct system () runs along the battery module () for absorbing heat. The battery module () has a first cooling duct () and a second cooling duct (). The cooling device () is suitable and designed for charging the first and second cooling ducts () with the coolant in parallel.
