Abstract

The invention relates to a radiation detector () and to a method for manufacturing such a detector. In a preferred embodiment, the radiation detector () comprises an array of photosensitive pillars () that are embedded in a conversion material (). The photosensitive pillars may particularly be diodes connected at their ends to external circuits (). The conversion material () may particularly comprise a powder of scintillator particles () embedded in a matrix of binder.
