Abstract
A method for operating an amusement ride includes at least one vehicle which moves along a route and accommodates at least one passenger. By means of an amusement-ride-specific computer program, a virtual reality corresponding to a journey of the vehicle is generated and is represented on a head-mounted display associated with the passenger of a vehicle in accordance with the position of the vehicle on the route, and in accordance with the position and/or the orientation of the head-mounted display. The amusement-ride-specific computer program is executed on a mobile terminal of the passenger which comprises a communication interface. Alternatively, the amusement-ride-specific computer program is executed on an apparatus which is firmly connected to the vehicle and is designed to connect with the head-mounted display of the passenger. Further, an amusement ride, in particular to a roller coaster, carries out the method above.
