Abstract

A bearing housing () for a turbocharger having a rotatable shaft () passing through the bearing housing () with journal bearings () having tilting pads () for supporting the rotatable shaft () in the bearing housing (). The tilting pads () may have oil supply holes () through each pad () to direct lubrication to each pad surface (). The journal bearings () preferably have a circumferential groove () on an outer surface of the bearing aligned with the oil supply holes () to help feed oil to the oil supply holes ().
