A respiratory assistance deviceincludes: a maskhaving an expiratory hole; an expiratory valveprovided in the mask, for opening and closing the expiratory hole; and a control unitfor performing overall control on the entire device. The maskand the expiratory valvetogether form an opening and closing device. The expiratory valveis deformable by deformation of a piezo element. The expiratory valveis disposed on an inner surfaceso that a deformation direction thereof, i.e., a thickness direction thereof, extends along the inner surfaceof the maskand a side surfaceslides along the inner surfaceby the deformation thereof.
