A system and method for enabling an application () and a storage device () to be more aware of each other may include a computer (), a processor (), and a memory () as well as the storage device (). An application () stored in the memory may communicate with a user space device driver (). The user space device driver () may include a Mode Configure Module () to receive an application profile () from the application () and an Application Aware Module () to receive I/O commands () from the application () and place them in command queues () according to the application profile (, and).
