Abstract

Defoamer compositions contain a) a two-stage hydrosilylation product of one or more MQ or MTstarting materials with a hydrosilylatable composition containing α-methylstyrene, and then with a linear or branched organopolysiloxane bearing at least two hydrosilylatable groups; b) a silicone resin; and c) silica. The defoamers are particularly useful in machine laundering and dishwashing compositions.
