Abstract

Extinguishing a fire by pressurizing a tank containing an extinguishing liquid. According to the invention, the tank containing the liquid is provided with an expulsion outlet at a front end, a gas generator () is installed at a rear end, and a diaphragm forming an inflatable bag () is installed inside the tank, being folded prior to triggering in a confinement space at the front of the gas generator, the outlet from the generator being associated with a deflector () including a rearwardly-directed ejection passage ().
