Abstract

Provided are a light emitting element with a high efficiency and a long life that emits light in a near-infrared region, and a light emitting device, authentication device and electronic device that include the light emitting element. A light emitting element () according to one aspect of the invention includes an anode (), a cathode (), and a light emitting layer () that is provided between the anode () and the cathode () and that emits light by conducting current between the anode () and the cathode (). The light emitting layer () includes a pyrromethene-based boron complex as a light emitting material and a tetracene-based material as a host material for retaining the light emitting material.
