Abstract

A novel carbazole compound is provided which can be used as a host material for a light-emitting substance (substance emitting fluorescence or substance emitting phosphorescence). A light-emitting element with high emission efficiency, and a light-emitting device, an electronic device, or a lighting device which has low power consumption are provided. A carbazole compound represented by General Formula (G1) below. (In the formula, Arrepresents any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a carbazolyl group; Rto Reach independently represent any of hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenyl group; α represents any of a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene group and a substituted or unsubstituted biphenylene group; and n is any of 0, 1, and 2.)
