Abstract

Provided are compounds and compositions thereof that are useful as antioxidants in personal care formulations. The compounds are of the Formula I: wherein R, R, R, R, and Rare independently H, —OH, C-Calkoxy, —COOH, —COOMor —OM, where Mis a sodium, potassium, or ammonium ion, wherein at least two of R, R, R, R, or Rare —OH, and R, R, R, R, and R, are independently H, —OH, C-Calkoxy, —COOH, —COOMor —OMwhere Mis a sodium, potassium, or ammonium ion, or a substituent of Formula II: wherein R, R, R, R,and Rare independently H, —OH, C-Calkoxy, —COOH, —COOMor —OM, where Mis a sodium, potassium, or ammonium ion, provided that one of R, R, R, R, and Ris a substituent of Formula II.
