Abstract
A surgical implant () comprises a mesh-like, flexible basic structure () having a center area and an outer periphery (), wherein the outer periphery () has a polygonal shape with N corners (), N being at least 3. The implant () may comprise at least two pockets (), each pocket () extending from a peripheral line which connects two corners () of the outer periphery () of the basic structure () towards the center area of the basic structure (). The center area of the basic structure () can be marked by a center marking (), wherein directional indicators () point from the center marking () to at least two corners () of the outer periphery () of the basic structure ().
