Abstract

A process for removing one or more undesired (hydro)halocarbon compounds containing a ═CFmoiety from a (hydro)fluoroalkene that does not contain a ═CFmoiety, the process comprising contacting a composition comprising the (hydro)fluoroalkene and one or more undesired (hydro)halocarbon compounds with an aluminum-containing absorbent, activated carbon, or a mixture thereof, wherein the or each undesired (hydro)halocarbon compound is present in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 1000 ppm, based on the weight of the composition comprising the R-1234yf and one or more undesired (hydro)halocarbon compounds.
