Abstract
The invention provides an apparatus and method for illuminating, imaging and treating the retina of an eye. The apparatus () comprises an illuminating device () including a planar light source capable of producing light in a plane, such that the illuminating device () is capable of illuminating a circumferential line on the retina () and a support structure, wherein the illuminating device () is pivotably mountable to the support structure and is rotatable about an axis () which lies substantially on the plane defined by the light source, such that, in use, the illuminating device () may be rotated about the axis () to illuminate an area of the retina ().
