Abstract

A method, apparatus, and computer program for scanning for a secondary cell are provided. According to an embodiment, an apparatus operates in a primary cell of a cellular communication system, wherein the primary cell includes a primary component carrier associated with a bandwidth. The apparatus synchronizes scanning for a candidate secondary cell to radio transmissions in the primary cell, the secondary cell including a secondary component carrier expanding bandwidth beyond the bandwidth of the primary cell.
