Abstract
A probe unit () including a magnet () generates a static magnetic Bfield in an examination region and a RF coil (). An input-output module () includes a transmitter () which controls the RF coil () to excite resonance and cause echoes () and a receiver () which demodulates and digitizes the echoes (). A data processing module () includes at least one processor programmed to calculate a Trelaxation distribution plot from a digitized echo () train, calculate a first area under the fat peak on the Tdistribution plot, calculate a second area under a water peak on the Tdistribution plot, and normalize the first and second area to determine a fat-to-water ratio.
