Abstract
The invention relates to a cutting plate for a chip-removing cutting tool, comprising a cutting plate top face and a cutting plate bottom face, one or more lateral faces, cutting edges at the transition between the cutting plate top face and the one or more lateral face, and a circular chip recess in the cutting plate top face that has an outside diameter d. In order to reduce the production costs, according to the invention the following applies to the outside diameter dof the chip recess: 2 mm<d<=6 mm, preferably 2 mm<d<5 mm.
