Abstract
A femoral compression device () for compressing a femoral artery () of a patient, having a base plate () provided with two opposing extensions, each of the two opposing extensions having a member for affixing a belt (), which is adapted to be arranged around a patient's body, an inflatable air cushion (), provided with a back plate (), for compressive bearing against a puncture site, and a pump () connected to the inflatable air cushion for inflation of the air cushion. The femoral compression device further comprises a spacer () having a height and being adapted to be mounted between the inflatable air cushion and the base plate.
